The original Olympic Cafe opened in the 1940s. The cafe is named in honor of Duke Kahanamoku, the legendary Hawaiian swimmer who won multiple medals at the 1912 and 1920 Olympics.
Situated on a prominent corner in downtown Kapaa, and overlooking the main street, the cafe is perhaps Kapaa’s favorite community meeting point.
PHOTO: Mid-afternoons are not as busy, but the cafe is usually packed during lunch and dinner.
You can sit back and relax while watching the hustle and bustle below.
