For a unique and beautiful vantage point of Kalapaki Bay and Nawiliwili Harbor head to Kukii Point at the entrance to the bay. Looking from Kalapaki Beach at the Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort Lihue (former Kauai Marriott), the point is past the row of beach houses on your left. The Kukii Point Lighthouse Beacon, not to be confused with the nearby Ninini Point Lighthouse, is located here.
Kukii Point affords grand views of Nawiliwili Harbor, Kalapaki Bay, Kalapaki Beach, the Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort and the scenic Haupa Mountains across the bay. The point itself is an interesting place, with a beautiful rocky shoreline featuring Kauai’s volcanic geology.
Access can be found at the end of Kalapaki Circle. (There is parking along Kalapaki Circle.) Walk a short distance to the top of the golf course area where you will see a steep path to the right of the golf course that leads down to the shoreline. Use caution on the path and also on the shoreline. Dangerous waves breaking on the rocks can cause serious injury or death.
